In colder areas where people spend much of their time indoors with family and focus heavily on work to make a living, café culture seemed less popular. The cafés I visited were polished sometimes and felt like an indulgence rather than a daily hangout. There were some casual cafes and it was rare a space meant for lingering or socializing that often attracted the tourists. The Cusco cafes had plenty of windows for letting in the natural light and great views of the changing weather.
